Dr. Drees is an athlete who is passionate about helping athletes go from the sideline to the finish line.

Dr. Drees hails from Northwest Iowa--what Dr. Nate likes to describe as "Corn and Beans" with the "best star gazing".  His parents were athletes growing up and encouraged activity--whether that was roaming down by the pond, riding his bike, playing catch in the yard or shooting hoops in the driveway.  As Nate grew older he focused more on basketball and baseball.  Being in rural Iowa, his Mom went as far as cold-calling schools to find teams to practice against! He eventually got his own key to the gym (perks of a small town!) and he spent multiple hours daily with his Dad shooting hoops his last few years of high school. He attended Morningside Univeristy, Sioux City with the intent of playing basketball, however he discovered his passion for science and civic engagement so he focused on completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and falling 1 credit short of a second degree in Political Science and 4 credits from an additional degree in chemistry--a casualty of Dr. Nate graduating Cum Laude a year early and starting the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Palmer College of Chiropractic that same summer.

He enrolled in Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA, and spent the next four years receiving his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA while pursuing hundreds of additional hours in soft tissue and rehablitaiton training including getting certified in Graston Technique.  He managed to squeek some sports in intraumural basketball and moonlighting as a Relief Pitcher for the Palmer Dragons--they didn't win alot but they had a blast playing.  He continued to seek out experiences to improve his skills as a provider, including two Chiropractic mission trips to Haiti, as well as Rehabilitation, Sports Outreach, and a U.S. Olympic Trial internships during his time at Palmer.

Three's Company

Dr. Nate and his wife Megen, eloped in October 2020, and are excited to continue to explore the outdoor recreation and restaurants of Dane County! You rarely will see Dr. Nate and Megen without their dog, Nash, who seems to get tickets to every couple's adventure! Dr. Nate is an avid baseball and basketball fan and though he has a “baseball swing,” he loves a casual round of golf. Megen is a wonderful cook, and enjoys trying to new recipes. She is also the behind the scene Office Manager, wearing all sorts of hats for Sport and Spine.

About Dr. Nate's Journey

Care Needed To Be Complete--Convenient--and Affordable.

Dr. Nate was a teaching assistant at Palmer in the Diagnostic and Radiology department and took a special interest in both Active Care Rehabilitation classes, and Neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis. He spent multiple hours daily working with students on how to evaluate movement, soft tissue and joint dysfunction, an invaluable experience.

The pragmatic, evidence-based approach lead him to a variety of post graduate education in the coming years including McKenzie Method, Graston Technique(GTS), Active Release Technique (Full Body Trained, Long Tract Nerve Entrapment Trained), Functional Movement Systems Certified (FMSC), FAKTR and Dry Needling.

Dr. Nate Drees is one of only 7 Chiropractors in the State of Wisconsin, and the ONLY practitioner in Sun Prairie who is Full Body and Long Tract Nerve Entrapment Trained in Active Release Technique!    He is also the ONLY chiropractor to be a Graston Technique Specialist in Wisconsin and surrounding states.  He completes annual recertification in these techniques and continues to to take a minimum of 50 CEU's annually in Dry Needling--a Technique that is unregulated in Wisconsin, however Dr. Nate has been performing it safely since 2017 when he began practicing in Chicago--making him one of the most experienced Dry Needling Chiropractors in Wisconsin.

After a few years practicing in southeast Wisconsin and Chicago, Dr. Nate returned to WI to help open, grow, and operate three franchise chiropractic clinics. He loved the low cost model, the easy access to care, however he knew patients needed active rehabilitation and recovery services to maintain their pain free lifestyle, so he created Sport and Spine Recovery Clinic.  A year later, Megen and Dr. Nate purchased 412/414 West Main Street with the intent of building out a gym-clinic hybrid which as of 1/1/23 they had accomplished (minus a few decorating projects!).  Dr. Nate and Megen are the Owners and Operators of Sport & Spine and pride themselves on their ability to make care affordable and offer exemplary service.  They maintain their principles of having Convenient access to Complete soft tissue, chiropractic, dry needling, and rehablitation, at maintaining Affordable prices in Sun Prairie.
